Both the New Scientist and BBC have reports today on rising sea levels and 2005 being the warmest on record

and yet despite the slow move towards advertising telling us to save our 20% / recycle etc, there doesn't seem to be a huge move towards green energy like in other countries, and yesterday I read that sand in Canada that has oil in it is going to be filtered to extract the oil and so continue the trend of oil rather than renewable sources for another 50 years or so. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4649580.stm
Unfortunately all the obvious methods of going green - Hybrid cars, photovoltaics etc, still require money to aquire and from the point of a slightly skint ex student much to my disapointment i'll probably end up buying a normal polluting car when I get bored of walking everywhere.
